|
|
Hey all,
I'm planning on flying in with a couple laptops. They are both mine, one is visibly used and the other is brand new but will be out of the box. I'm wondering if anyone knows the rules about this--I had heard once that you get slapped with a big tax for bringing in more than one laptop, or digital camera, or whatever.
Is this true? Is it only if you get searched at customs? Any suggestions on how to avoid them finding both?
I thought about repacking my bags before going through customs (did this once before with other electronics) and burying one laptop at the bottom of a suitcase, the other in my backpack.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Probably best. Odds on pushing a red light for a search are very low. Or, why not tell them you are a tech and always bring a backup. |
