Hello, I'm writing to say that I found a really cool course that was designed in Buenos Aires, exclusively for Buenos Aires. It works the city into the program, volunteers, take you out, and so on. You can read alot more about it on its homepage www.travellingteachers.com or wait till I start and I will keep you posted as they say. LOL. I hope this helps, if anyone has any information on jobs in Cordoba I'd really appreciate it too. I want to experience Buenos Aires, but I want to live by mountains long term (6 mos.) I also hear there is more work in cities which i suppose is common knowledge, but i only found out because I was considering Chile too and heard the work there is more seasonal (so I guess that cancels out Patagonia, boo hoo Sad- all well! C U All Soon.

How do you like the program. I am considering EBC or TEFLocal and I know that you signed up with TEFLocal. Any regrets. I know they helped you with the visas, what about the jobs, quality of teach. Meeting new people?

Sorry but I don't buy it - programs that are billed as "TEFL course designed in Buenos Aires for Buenos Aires".

I'm TEFL certified and I love the Spanish and Latin way of life so I've started looking into South America, maybe Chile or Argentina. So my point is when I did my TEFL program, I knew I wanted to be trained to teach English anywhere, Japan, Spain, Chile, Argentina, it doesn't matter where I decided to go.

I was taught by a very experienced teacher and he has taught English and trained teachers to teach English in 4 continents and he always told us that teaching is teaching and if you trained well you must be able to teach anywhere you want to teach. Some countries will have different types of learners but they still need to be taught.

So programs like you say , designed in Buenos Aires for Buenos Aires, doesnt sound too good to me. As I said I am already TEFL trained, I teach English for a living and I am glad my training was designed with a much more international vision.

Don't get me wrong Eva, if the Argentinian program made for Argentina works for you, then go for it. I just thought I'd give my opinion on this. As they say different strokes for different folks!
