Monsieur 'Paris',
je crois vous etes francais, non? Si non - e ben, on a le droit de se tromper, pas vrai???
I say this because I have discovered this year a huge increase in French visitors to China, some with long-term residency projects.
Well, you must be more realistic and leave the French-Chinese friendship exercises strenously and ingeiously brought to life over the last 2 years behind and see reality.
It's not a good idea to study economics in China of all places - just think about it for a second: what do Chinese know about market economics? Have they finally abandoned their command economy?
Apart from such questions, why do you want to study in China in the first place? In ENGLISH of ALL LANGUAGES???
I would warn you against it!
The Indian government had to warn its nationals a couple of months ago against flocking to China to "study" there.
Thousands of Indians over the last feew years obtained some degree or other from a Chinese tertiary institutions; many came and still come here to study "western medicine"... They do this because it is CHEAPER than studying in India.
But the reality is that Chinese teaching is less glorious than the teaching in any other third-world country. Especially modern subjects! The worst is: although some courses are now available in English you can't trust your ears most of the time when you listen to Chinese lecturers droning in their pseudo-English.
But I guess you won't be deterred by my bluntness; please, feel free to delude yourself -n at your cost. Our university too is enrolling foreign students; recently I saw the application of a German guy who wants to study "media" in China (again: of all places!). IT's good euros for bad teaching, but it is his business! We also have dozens of Koreans. I don't know about economics - we have a department where that is taught - to Chinese, in CHinese, with English as a minor subject. |
