I appreciate digiturk. After a day of communicating in/trying to learn more Turkish, I really need to turn off my brain. On cable there is only bbc and news channels.
bbc prime-
1.cooking
2.d.i.y.
3.antiques
4.dramas with medical staff
That's about it, innit?
Bring on da fish tank! |

Now you're making me miss Digitrk! I've thus far banned it in the new house (forseeing too many arguments over whether to watch endless football vs. anything else), but the fish channels! Ahhh, so many evenings waiting for the seahorse. Or that mean eely thing under the rock menacing the smaller fish...
|
I like experimenting with the fish:music ambiance ratio--- the emotional impact of fish and reggae vs fish and Italian contemporary or Modern country. I actually really like fish and blues when they have a Billie Holliday theme going. Good for a Sunday afternoon with tea and Guardian Weekly-- if they actually bother to post it to me again (only got 3 in the last 3 months) |

I like listening to Nina Simone whilst tickling a fried trout. |

remember when i was all stressy a coupla months ago, and having my crap days? difficult teaching situation, broke, mother-in-law blues, flat tyre, breaks failed, ran over the cat...etc. what did i do? i whinged to all of you here at dave's! wasn't that endearing.
other methods:
1. a good long bath or shower (as suggested by tekirdag)
2. a good drop of plonk/beer/prozac (as suggested by everyone)
3. a good talk to a friend or the dog (cats don't listen to your troubles really, they just want gratification)
4. s-e-x
5. a bit of a session on the musical instrument of your choice, or with some paints/crayons/whatever
6. picking fights with loved ones (me too, justme, not just you. not the preferred option)
7. swim/box/walk/life-be-in-it type crap
8. daydreaming your next time off & away
9. laughing yr arse off
10. having a *good cry*
