|

I've recently seen some parties for foreigners advertised in English language classifieds in the Tokyo and surrounding areas.
These events appear to be commercial, have an all-inclusive price and promise a variety of adult beverages and food. The venues rotate among various locations that I presume to be in clubs and also cite an expected crowd size (such as '300 expected' or similar representations).
What's up with these get-togethers? Has anyone ever gone to one? I don't have a lot of trouble meeting people, gaijin or Japanese, but I do enjoy socializing and the opportunity to expand my circle of friends and people to enjoy recreating with. |

I'm sure at the same time they post ads in Japanese "Come meet the Gaijin!" to get Japanese people to go. Heh. I guess this would be good for people looking for a quick score but as for me, I'll keep away from the zoo like atmosphere I'm sure these parties have.

From what I hear, most of these parties are foreign guys and Japanese girls and you are not there to meet the other foreigners. |

when i first came to japan i was approached by a girl in the street who invited me to a party. As i didnt really know anyoneand she was good looking(!) i went after we exchanged a few mails.
when i got there you had to pay 1000 yen to enter. It soon became apparent that it was an international party. loads of people standing round looking uncomfortable.
Had a couple of drinks and left. I wouldnt recommend going to one, unless you havent had it for a while!! lol(sorry for the crudeness!!!!) |
