Hi Canuck,
You are right about that. What I am interested to discuss is why?
Give it to me like I'm an 8-year-old.

Student's homestay went bad. You stepped in. You housed student for 3 weeks. That went bad. Told your school. Improper behaviour, miscommunication, unhappiness.

Just go to work, do the best job you can do, and unless you're part of the homestay program, and one of your duties is monitor the well being of the student, just let it be, or if problems arise, communicate them to the person of authority.

Stillnosheep has been an illogical troll for so long, but it's interesting to hear her warped take on things. Do you and the student belong to the same church or are friends of the family? Rolling Eyes

The Japanese homeroom teachers often have more duties and responsibilites than the foreign English teachers. I would politely suggest that you let them sort the "difficult" stuff out and concentrate on your classes. Your heart was probably in the right place, but I wouldn't try and stretch my involvement in something that the school didn't specifically ask you to do.

Hi Canuck,

Sorry, just now noticed your question. No, we do not belong to the same church or family. Just being hospitable, I guess because I am also French. Never crossed my mind about being a teacher and all.

Anyway, she is getting along very well.

Enjoy yourself,
