|
|
I work at a middle school in Zhanjiang, Guangdong. My colleague is suppose to get a Foreign Experts Certificate. However, the liason officer of our school told her that she might not be able to get a FEC because she doesn't have 2 years work experience.
Another college had a problem getting a FEC on one of their teachers who has less than 2 years work experience.
My question is: are there any news about requiring 2 years work experience before you can get a FEC??
Last year, I wasn't required to get one to apply for a Z visa. However this year, it's one of the requirements. I do have more than 2 years experience so I don't have any problems. |

Two years experience and a university degree have been written into the SAFEA guidelines for a long time; but, a short supply of FTs with those qualifications often means the local authorities will not enforce it. |

Right. clomper, it's also important to keep in mind that SAFEA guidelines are enforced differently from province to province and region to region, and sometimes additional regulations are added in some regions. It all depends on supply and demand. As of this April, more and more provinces are tightening regulations due to the number of people who want want to teach in more-favoured cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, and Qingdao. |

Thanks guys! So it's like a hit and miss.
Oh yeah.. the college just gave the FT a student visa. I don't know why but she's working on a student visa.
I'm not sure with my colleague yet as the school seems to take their time in processing the RPF and FEC. Her tourist visa is good for 6 months.
