write to ramakesh for a VERY ACCURATE RUN DOWN........there are too many people looking for the jobs that are there.......10 yrs ago the pay was exactly the same and the competition was less.....inflation and recession and too many teachers make it not worth doing....getting a job before you go is pointless, they never keep their word and the offers suck and are full of illegalities...comming and looking will most likely drain you loot and hope.....WELCOME TO TAIWAN'S TOURIST INDUSTRY: WANABEE TEACHERS, that leave once they wake up.

Jobs are plentiful for competent individuals with good attitudes.

TAIWANESE DON'T LOOK FOR COMPETENCY THEY LOOK FOR VICTIMS !!!!!!

Dude, you are so sad. No wonder you hate yourself so much. If one iota of this aggression you have inside you is evident in your interviews, then it's no wonder why you are painting such a horrific picture of Taiwan. You and Ramentakesh should start your own school. That way you won't have to deal with the abuse all of Taiwan seems to be heaping on poor little you.

Or you could grow up???? This is the real world son. Your pretty white face jsut ain't gonna cut it here. Korea yes...here, not so much any more.

Im not going to cut what? Taiwan is the real world? Is that why you work here? Becuase you think its representative of the real world? Anyone can cut it here - but whether its actually worth the effort is the issue...

It's not the real world at all. After 2 weeks of negotiations with a Jordan branch and the owner's daughter repeating herself over and over despite my objections, I had to give up. She kept saying that her father wanted me to sign one contract but agree verbally to another. That's not how the WORLD does buiness I'd reply, she'd repeat herself, I'd rephrase and explain, she'd repeat herself after 30 minutes of this in one of our conversations, she explained that all of Asia does business like this and maybe Asian business life was not for me. Is it all the teachers that come to Taiwan and get raped by the system of lies and toothless laws or is it the system. Most teachers or wannabes that come there fail. That's my experience and that of my friends who own a chain of hostels in taipei. PopFly, you are stuck in 1994.
