Is there a site or a forum where expats advertise stuff that they want to sell in Riyadh.
I'm thinking about something like the expat site in Moscow where people advertise what the can't/don't want to take home with them when they leave.
I have just arrived and need to equip my apartment and would be interested in any TV, DVD player, PC etc |

You've got to look around the noticeboards of the supermarkets - hi-tech hasn't hit Riyadh expats yet.
On the other hand you can buy anything you need for your flat - including half-used razor blades, tubes of toothpaste, teatowels, old copies of 'Arab News' at twenty halalahs a throw and a lot more. La Fontaine's ant was a positive spendthrift compared to your average Riyadh expat.
One thing the western expat is unlikely to do is to grossly overcharge you. Sub-continentals and Arab expats on the other hand have been known to try and get double the new price for their old junk. Please don't take this as a racist comment - there are plenty of those nationalities who don't indulge in such shady practices - it's just that nobody's ever come across them :) |

You must learn to live parsimoniously. Buy nothing. Otherwise you will never qualify for membership of the 500 Club. |

www.expatriates.com - Saudi Arabia - Items For Sale
Useful site, most of the ads are genuine.
Hope this helps. |
