|
|
Greetings:
Does anyone have any ideas about activities, like games or whatever (actually, anything), that would, encourage a group of Saudi students to speak English. The students have a rudimentary grasp of English and I want activities, group activities, that would engage them, get them interested, and allow them to practice the English skills they have. Every teacher has at least one activity that's a winner that really works with a diverse group of students. If you got one, please share it with me and everyone else on this Forum.
By the way, any suggestions or advice from this Forum are, of course, appreciated but can anyone suggest any other websites where I might find activities for the purpose described above. |

Generally, Saudi students are very talkative and speaking is almost always their strong point. Where they have real difficulties is with the written world. So, I would say that just about any 'speaking activity' which has worked for you in other countries will also work well here, so long as you've vetted it for obvous 'cultural taboos.' |

I found that sometimes, I repeat sometimes, giving out role-cards which they have to read, then take a few notes worked, but then they would often go off topic more than we do? sort of related. It's a good idea to take notes for delayed f/b. If you noted any errors, they would have great delight in trying to work out who made the error.

Age of students?
Also, there's an "Idea Cookbook" in the Teacher materials on the Dave's home page. Try looking there. |

Does age matter? Put adults in the classroom and they behave like children. Or is that just me? |
