are weekends included in the holiday entitelment in oman? how many free days are there when ramadan finishes?
are there any furnished or semi-furnished flats in sohar? |

If they say that there are 45 or 60 days summer holiday, they mean calendar days, not working days. I have never seen a contract in the Gulf that counted summer holiday by 'working' days.
The number of days off after Ramadhan varies. You will not know the exact day that it starts until the day itself... and you will probably not know how many days it will last either. Oman uses actual moon sightings for the beginning and end of Ramadhan. I have seen the Eid al-Adha last from 3-9 days. It is almost impossible to plan a trip out of the country.
I would expect that there are few, if any, furnished flats in Sohar, but hopefully someone there can answer this one.

Hi Seamus
Just remember, that when your summer holiday comes around you leave Oman on the Wednesday after teaching but don't count your hols as starting until the Saturday. This gives 2 extra days, which always helps!
