sorry to make a separate post..
I've been looking through all the archives as well.

Are there any institutes in DF that do teacher training?

I have not seen any that offer CELTA or Trinity in the capital, just other independent institutes/programs. At any rate, I'd love to hear about any and all of the options in Mexico City.

les agradecera mucho

As far as I know, there is only Teachers Latin America/Innovative English (where I work) in DF with a TEFL cert. International House offers a DELTA I believe.

Not sure if you meant this Guy, but you need a CELTA and some years experience (2?) to study the DELTA. I think IH Mexico City teaches both. There's also the British Council in Mexico City, but I couldn't tell from their website if they teach CELTA or just DELTA.

Have a good day,
Lozwich.

I know about CELTA preceding DELTA, but the last time I called...well over a year ago, they were only ofering the DELTA there at the World Trade Center site. It never made sense to me to offer only the DELTA, so you could be right.

Of course I'm right! I'm a woman! Even when I'm wrong I'm right! Cool

But seriously, I did have a quick peek at the IH site, and it said "Click here for more information" on the CELTA page, which may mean you have to pay large sums of money to travel to one of the other affiliates (like in Barcelona, or Playa) to get your CELTA.

What? An ex-IH employee a little cynical about the organisation??? Shocked

Wink

Yeah, I've added it to my list of bizarre work experiences.

And that's all we're going to say about that. Ok?

Thanks for the replies.. those two were what I had been able to find on my own as well. I was hoping there might be more options since I need a 4 week program. Smile

And for IH, I'll have to call to verify if they're offering CELTA because their email inbox is full. uhmm... cool.

Any reason why you want to study in DF in particular? There is definitely a CELTA program at IH in Playa del Carmen. The full time course is 5 weeks.

Yeah. I have 2 friends living in DF so.. I could live with them. Not to mention I've always wanted to visit.

I'm moving back to Chile in February so I'm looking either into DF to see them or a South American country where I can just bus back into Chile by Feb, so I was hoping against hope that there would be a CELTA in DF.

thanks for your help!
