Hi Fellow ESLers and entrepreneurs;
I'll relocate from Shanghai to SZ shortly, and will look for corp teaching gigs to get started. At the same time I will endeavor to start a legitimate language consulting business. I'd appreciate any constructive positive feedback on this. My understanding is I can get a legal licence to do this for a few thousand RMB. I want to run biz out of my apartment which I understand is quasi-legal.
It seems there is a good market for this sort of thing. If you are already running such a business you make think "why should I help this guy?"
Well perhaps we can network and be friendly competitors. I have a lot of business experience and Business teaching experience, and a lot of confidence overall having done this in other countries. Therefore I believe this is do-able, however I need to do the legwork and you could help.
I look forward to the feedback and thank you in advance. |

Dan, I am beginning to feel your problem: you don't have the stamina needed to develop a "busines" - you keep running around in circles.
And you must be seriously misinformed if you believe a "few thousand" kuai will sort you out! |

I should have said a few thousand US dollars. Stamina? Well I've been in this business for 12 years in several countries. Pls let's not use names on this board, accurate or not. Running in circles? Not sure what that means. I ran my own show for 3 years in Mexico City. I realized the learning curve was longer in China, so I decided to spend 2 years working for others, as a DOS/HFT/Trainer. I just completed a 1 year contract and that was great. Now it's time to move on.
I still say a business in China is doable, but I guess there'll always be naysayers. (read: the "Rogers" of the world.) 6000 odd posts, and many seemingly without any tangible point. Here is someone who seeks the negative in eveything and is very successful at it. |
