I was just about to ask that!
Playadelsoul went, I think. I'm most curious to hear back from him, on Mextesol and on how he's doing after Wilma. |

Hi guys!
Well, for me, it was well worth it. I had never gone to anything like that, so I thought it was great! There was a wide range of topics, and several good speakers (also some not so great!). There were many distributors and lots of books/material available at discounts of 20% or more. I met many nice people, made a few friends that I'll be seeing again soon, and made a lot of useful contacts. The registration and payment process was a mess, however, and the conference halls were pretty spread out, so it was easy to arrive late from one conference to the next.
While I was really happy, some people there mentioned that a conference called the Best of the British (or something like that) is even better.
Zacatecas was lovely- very clean, lots of places to see, safe, and friendly. I would definitely recommend it as a fun getaway! In fact, I'm suprised more people don't go. Also, the conference was held at the same time as a theater in the street fair, so that was an added bonus. Oh, the food was really great, too, especially the enchiladas Zacatecanas. Yum!
Melee, is that YOUR doggie, by chance? He is sooooooo cute!
Any other atendees? |

Actually, it's not my dog, and I realize its really too big, I will change it soon, but he's so cute! And I love the way he's looking towards the text .
The Best of British is every other year in February. It's put on by the British Council in Mexico City. It's great, but a lot more expensive. (But it does include a very nice lunch two days). There was one this year so the next one is in 2007. |
