Have a safe trip and keep in touch. Will definitely catch up. That would be so fun.

Lianne, how are you?
Kelly where are you at?
I've got the February package that'll look over again. It's getting closer to that time.

Hi adventureamust and Lianne,
I am currently over in Korea freezing my ass off, but it has been a great experience all the same. You can definitely make a lot of money here but I am certain that Thailand holds a lifestyle that I would enjoy a whole bunch more. I am working at a good school with a bunch of great teachers. I definitely do not want to stay here long term though. I've been thinking a lot about what I will do in the New Year. If I head to Thailand, i'll let you both know.
Lianne, how is Thailand? Are you enjoying your job? Adventureamust, have you made any decisions?
Take care both of you and I hope to meet up with you at some point even if I just head out to Thailand on a vacation!
Cheers, |

Hi Kelly,
I'm freezing here in rural China. It is so rural, no place to eat, shop etc... So from that respect I'm not spending much. It is a great experience but I'm ready to move onward.
I would like hear how Media Kids is doing and Lianne.
Let's hope we hear from her. The PM feature didn't work the last time I tried it so I hope she comes on board. |

I have not contacted them, but was impressed by Mediakids' ad. No one on this forum has really said anything specific about this company. Could someone please tell me what is good or bad about Mediakids. Contact me directly or reply to this post. Thanks. I appreciate whatever you have to share.

When they sent me an offer I noticed they were looking for a lot of teachers and yet I haven't seen a single post by anyone who was worked with them. For better or worse.
For some reason, that in itself bothers me. I checked one other website per another poster's suggestion, but found nothing there either.
I wonder if they would provide a teacher to contact. |

It's a good point. This would also explain why there isn't a lot of specific info posted about their organization. I think I will do a little investigation. I am hoping people who have worked for them respond to my query, but I don't have high hopes.
Thanks.

In case you missed it, Media Kids Ltd
has a brand new website of its own.
Found it here on Dave's today.
If you click on Testimonials, you'll
find some first-hand impressions:

Thanks Kent...
I'm actually in Thailand for the month of February on a holiday. I haven't decided if I am going to come back to teach but the possibilities are looking better every day. I love it here!
Cheers,
Kelly |

Kent,
#1) the link doesn't seem to be working. Is the URL correct ? Is the site dead, or just short-term "ill" ?
#2 ) If you mean "testimonials" offered by the MediaKids topic itself, isn't that a bit silly ? Testimonials offered by the company itself give no guarantee that
a) they are honestly tutorials, not written by some ad man
b) represent a majority viewpoint of workers and former workers there.
I think if someone wants an honest opinion of what it's like to work there, going to their preened and picked-over website is not the way to do it. Going to a rough-and-ready website (like this one) and asking people if they know the school's reputation is a far far more reliable method. |

| Hey, I've been reading this thread for a bit and just wanted to let you know that there's nothing wrong with the company. I work for them myself at a school in Sukhothai. If there's anything you want to know you can ask me and I'd be happy to answer |

A real person to contact. Super.
How long have you worked for them and would you or did you extend your contract. How was the workload, did you have free time? (I ask that because I feel like I am on call into the evenings and weekends)
Were you in an interesting area? Rural? Was there anything to see/do?
How was MediaKids to work for? It sounded almost like there many inspections of how you dress, your lesson plans etc...
Did they provide accommodations or help you find them? How were they?
Did you have any minor or major problems?
Thanks a lot. |

Bear in mind as they're basically an agency some of the schools that they place people in could be nice, some not so nice.
I had a few friends work for them a while ago and overall it was a negative experience. Saying that I put someone from here in touch with someone working there and they were quite positive about it.
IMO it's a so so job with a so so company, there's worse, but there's also better. |

With the details of the work schedule and requirements, I didn't get the impression they were a recruiter. I thought they were more like a private school with several locations.
Then I might as well work with any recruiting agency.
Thanks much. |
