Hello Shonai Ben !

I haven't been to Hua Hin yet ...

but I think you're in for a pleasant vacation.

Let's hope somebody jumps in here with some

good first-hand tips & info. In the meantime,

Where do you think that shot is from, Kent?

That shot exemplifies why I love Thailand - or at least my little piece of it. Eight minute walk from my house to that very thing. But I can tell it isn't Bang Tao.

I've spent time at Hua Hin on two occasions. I like it. It has a decent beach; decent water; a lot of restaurants run by Europeans, and a number of guesthouses, also run by Europeans.

Unique to Hua Hin are the warves- on which small guesthouses, and large seafood restaurants are built, extending out over the water.

When the king is in, it's fun to see the warships anchored just off the coast- with their festive strings of lights at night.

There is a historic hotel worth strolling around. It is really big, and was built before the days of airconditioning (opened, 1923). It's verandas and breezeways, and even the fixtures in the bathrooms, suggest a time gone by.

For a look-

Hua Hin is just four hours from BKK by bus, or train.

You're quite welcome, Shonai Ben.

Greetings Joe

& tedkarma !

Speaking of The King: during the droughts

I've read recently that The King actually goes

along & supervises cloud-seeding missions,

which are based in Hua Hin: link below

by the way ...

The beach photo above was taken on Samui.

For what purpose? What are your interests? Chiang Mai's a great place, but the scuba diving sucks. C'mon, a little less vagueness, if you please.

If JZer doesn't want to provide specifics on what type of "city" or locale he's interested in, here's a thought:

JZer is mostly interested in girls and money. Wink

What type of city Wink ? if I knew why would I be asking that! As for money in Thailand, I didn't think there was any. Just the money that westerners spend. I think Thailand will just set you back your savings.
