The State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs and its website, Chinajob.com will hold the Third Job Fair for Foreign Language Teachers and Professionals in Beijing on November 5th.

The two previous Job Fairs sponsored by Chinajob.com attracted over 50 school and university hiring officers and over 300 teacher job applicants.

The Job Fair is a meeting place for those who offer the jobs and those who are seeking jobs. According to one of the participants in the April Job Fair, ��No other way of job searching offers a person to talk face-to-face with the placement officers of so many schools in one place in one day.��


School, university and global business Foreign Affairs and Human Resources personnel expressed an overwhelming satisfaction with the ability to ����be able to look over a candidate and evaluate those many small but important characteristics which you cannot see in a resume.��

The November Job Fair, which will be held on Saturday, November 5th in the Hong Kong-Macau Center (Swisshotel building) will add a new dimension to advantages of person-to-person job seeking techniques. All throughout the day, six ��Foreign Teacher and Staff Working in China Clinics�� will be held during the Fair. There will also be several global business representatives at the Job Fair who will be interviewing for entry and intermediate level professional jobs.

One of the ��Working in China Clinics�� will be conducted by two foreign teachers with over 30 years of combined teaching experience in China. New and even seasoned English teachers will be able to talk with and exchange views on the problems of teaching English (especially Oral English) in Chinese schools and universities. The presenters will answer questions and offer several tried and tested methods for successful classroom teaching in China��s schools.


The Second day-long Clinic will feature a Foreign Affairs Officer from a well-known university in Beijing. The FAO will be available to answer the perennial question, ��What does the FAO do��? The representative will explain the formal and official role of the Foreign Affairs Officer (��Wai Ban��) in China��s educational establishment and answer all questions about what an FAO should, can, must, do, and even those things which an FAO are not able or allowed to do.

The Third Clinic will be presented by a senior representative of the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs and will explain, along with brochures and printed handouts, the ins and outs of job searching, visas, living arrangements, expert��s certification, the rights and obligations of Foreign Experts in China. Here is where you can find ��everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask�� about the rules, regulations, rights and obligations of being a foreign expert in China.

The Fourth day-long clinic table will be manned by a representative of the Beijing Public Security Office. An officer of the Public Security Bureau will be on hand to answer your questions and concerns about your relationship with the police and the Chinese Police relationship with you. Are there ��special�� categories for ��Lao Wai�� in the instructions of police officers on the beat in our cities. You can ask all your questions in a friendly, professional, non-threatening situation. You may be surprised.


What do our university and school English teachers teach the students who we will be teaching. Two Chinese English teachers from Beijing universities will be on hand to tell and show you what they teach and how they teach it. They will offer hints and tips for classroom teachers on dealing with Chinese students �C their seeming passiveness and shyness, their reticence to perform in class, and many other ��mysteries�� of the average Chinese student.

The sixth Clinic will be conducted by a representative of Chinajob.com website. Chinajob.com is a major website in China for the recruitment of foreign staff for global business enterprises �C both domestic and international. You will be able to view and obtain additional information on hundreds of jobs listed in Chinajob.com for professional staff from Accounting to Zoology.

This Job Fair will be a dynamic and creative day for anyone who is interested in starting or continuing to teach and to obtain a professional job in China.
