| The going rate for privates will vary depending on if you are doing them in Poland "A" or Poland "B". You will make much more in Warsaw than you would in Stalowa Wola. Keep in mind that Poland is still a very poor country. I was getting 40zlt in Poland "B". Four of those a week more than covered my rent. |

| currently earning 3000zl gross for 120hours /month.... so 25 zl an hour. edit * and those are full 60min hours i am counting too. the lessons I teach are not 45min but 80min long.. |
If you don't mind me asking what school is this?
Someone is taking advantage of you.
Last year in Cracow most teachers were paid at least 30 for every 45 minutes in classroom after taxes.
Are you really teaching 30 hours a week and preparing lessons?
If so it is time to start looking around. You deserve much more. You could always find another job and tell the school that unless they pay you more that you're going to leave.
I know it isn't fun, but again you're been had if you're also preparing lesson on top of all that. Actually even if you're not preparing lessons that's just too low for 60 minutes, unless perhaps they pay your rent. |

i'd rather leave the school's name off this board...
They do pay my rent but its cheap where i live. I agree that its a bit crap and they don't pay my prep hours - so naturally I try to spend as little time on that as possible , so my boss s hits on me for being "unprepared."
I'm teaching 26 hours /week (solid hours) + prep time (by prep time i mean like planning full year lessons for 10odd groups each with different books!!) for .we'll say 3000zl gross (including rent)
Its only a matter of time.... escape is imminent
I just hope i can get a job in the saturated Krakow market this late in the year... |

I think I know who you're working for.
I've known other teachers who have worked there, thought they were going to work for a professional outfit only to be disappointed.
Although it's not so bad since they include the rent.
There's no need to run to Warsaw, just keep your ears open. |
