I'm discouraged. I never thought I would have so much trouble trying to find my own apartment. I feel like I've been without a "home" for 6 weeks. I'm starting to get tired of it.

My boyfriend works for his older brother, and his older brother has offered to give him a guarantee. We could live together, but we both know that would be rushing things. If we lived together, he'd be forced to tell his family he's gay, too. And who knows? They might take back the guarantee, fire him, and/or kick him out of the house. So as long as he's working for his brother, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

It's basically impossible for us to get even a minute alone together. It's torture. I'm very discouraged.

Sorry, I just needed to have a virtual rant to let out some of my frustrations.

why do you have to tell them that you're his boyfriend? would it be possible to move in together "as friends"? just your typical two guys living together as roommates... that doesn't seem very suspicious.

Unfortunately, some mean person called my boyfriend's mother and told her that he was gay and dating an American. God knows why. My boyfriend just laughed it off as a bizarre prank call.

They haven't talked about it since because they've got a very bad relationship. I doubt his mother talked to his father about the call. The parents don't know that I exist or that I live in Quilmes, but if we lived together, my boyfriend would have to come out of the closet. I mean, if we live together, there is no way that I can keep his mother from discovering that I am the gay American who's dating her son.

Every mother knows when she's got a gay son. It's not like she need that prank call to know deep down inside that her son is gay.

It wouldn't be so hard to come out of the closet if he weren't so dependent on his family for his job and guaranta. He has no idea how they'll react.

I am sorry to hear that things got a bit complicated. In the meantime perhaps you can chill out and relax at TelosSmile

Hope things get better soon.

Does that mean there would be a vacant closet available? What kind of size is it? How much per month, and would I need a guarantee? Is it ensuite?

I love your sensitivity and compassion Gary... I hope immigration (hope against hope I know) get hold of you and put your ass on the first
flight back to New Zealand.

Mate, I told you before you came out it would be a struggle, old
predujices die hard especially in South America. Though I hope
you stay on and enjoy the country. Keep smiling and keep looking
everything wherever it is a good or a bad experience is only
temporary.
