|
|
Hi,
I just arrived in St Pete a week ago I have teaching work already but am staying with a friend and need to find accomodation now. Can anyone recommend a website or newspaper or something that is a good place to find rooms in St Pete? I would be quite happy to share a room in an apartment, especially if the other person is a Russian speaker, but it needs to be quite central or at least close to a metro line and not too expensive (200-300 euros a month max). Or perhaps someone knows someone in the city with a room to rent? I'm not looking for luxury, just somewhere clean and well-located.
Any tips would be great as I need to find somewhere quite urgent!
thanks

I was going to post a message about accommodation in St. Pete's, but you beat me to it tee hee...
I'm going to be arriving in St. Pete's around december 10th - only problem is, there don't seem to be any websites (other than the 'serviced-apartments-for-tourists type) which advertise one or two roomed apartments for let, or people looking for a roommate...didn't have much luck with the website above, dammit!
Is there any other way of getting something sorted out before I travel?
Ta muchly,
Ruth. |

Heh heh, I was talking about this kind of site two weeks ago. Damn shame I didn't get it started then. I'll keep an eye out for you and let you know if I find anything. Can sort you out with bed & breakfast when you arrive if you like, not very cheap but safe & comfortable for a few days.
Actually... have an idea... hold that thought and I'll get back to you... |

Hi guys
thanks for the tips but this flatmates site has very little on it. Anyone living in St Pete: is there some magazine or newspaper where people advertise rooms? Or does anyone know any agency that doesn't charge minimum 600 euros a month? Or where the hell can I find something?

So what's the going rate for a reasonable 1 room flat not too far from the centre? Not necessarily 'evro-remont' |

Hi Bobs,
I can't say for sure how many, but at least a few months. At this stage even something to tide me over for a few weeks while I look around would be welcome. Nevertheless I bought this 'iz ruk v ruki'' magazine and have a couple of leads from there. But if you do know of anything please let me know as rooms seem to get snapped up so fast and so I don't know if I'll find anything here
thanks

Private messaging seems to have been disabled - or is it just my account? Anyway, someone's written to me and I can't read it
Neil - I may have a temporary room (a few months anyway) for you, near Sennaya Ploschad'. In a flat with a nice American lass, about $275 a month, might be able to get her down to 250 but she's a businesswoman and drives a hard bargain
You can get in touch through the contact from on my website - http://www.visarus.co.uk/contact give me your number and I'll call.
Ruth - I have your email, still looking out for something for you.
Seeya,
Bobs |

Hi Bobs,
Thanks so much - seems as though the best way to find accommodation in St. Petersburg is to get in touch with those who already live there It's going to be a baptism of fire arriving in December, methinks...

It took me months to find the place I'm in now, and I couldn't have done it without help from people already here. What goes around comes around, as they say! |
