On vacation in Canada, I've been OD-ing on tv. I avoid tv overseas because I'm a tv addict.

The Jerry Springer show is disgusting! If people around the world think that's REAL AMERICA.... I mean, women are lifting their blouses and showing their bre**s unbra-ed. And not just the 'invited guests' but the audience too.

As a child, my sisters and I watched "Queen for a Day". Years later, we learned the sob-stories weren't true, nor were the women. They were actresses. So what's the story with Jerry Springer and that ilk of tv show? Are those people real? Or actors?

If they're real, it's another mass-media exploitation of the working and underclass for the amusement of others.

I was appalled when one man appeared to be in serious and real need of medication but the show was delighting in broadcasting worldwide his pain, confusion and inability to deal with those conflicting emotions in public. Sure, he may have signed a wavier and been given a fee, but my God!

American TV exploitation of people who seem to live purely on the emotional, non-rational level seems as disgusting as child prostitution.

There outta be a law against it (other than just turning the channel)!

PS - I heard, but didn't see, that newspapers in Indonesia usually published graphic pictures no newspaper in the US would publish: graphic pictures of mutilations, car accidents, etc.

I have heard about the Jerry Springer show, and don't think it is what I care to watch. Every people have the artistic fare they deserve!

What I do not understand is: what is "DISGUSTING" in women displaying publicly their physical attributes?

I know about "decency", "modesty" etc., but I also know about prudishness, false morality and repression of natural instincts and consequential psychotic behavioral patterns and attitudes!
