|

Hi,
I am hoping to live in Mulheim, Germany for a year or two with my boyfriend who has been given a post-doctoral position. I know that the unemployment rate is very high there and it will be very difficult for me to find a job. I am not an EU member and as of yet, I don't speak any German. I do however, have a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and have been working in office jobs for the last few years. I would like to consider teaching English and want to make myself as marketable as possible. I am a native English speaker but don't have any training or experience. I want to take a teaching course such as the TEFL or CELTA but am having difficulty choosing one. The TEFL is about $1000 Cdn and the CELTA is about $2500 Cdn. I hear that the CELTA is better but I'm not sure if it will make a difference in Germany. Do you know if they would prefer a CELTA or would it not matter? If so, does it warrant a $1500 price difference?
Also, as I am very new to this world, I would appreciate any other suggestions anybody could provide me.
Thank you for your help! |
