| Dont be jealous. Come on down here and see for yourself the kind of money that the people who work for Pemex will pay for a top-rate education. |

| SORRY. I really didnt mean to send that message three times, or even two. I am more accustomed to using carrier pigeons or a hammer and chisel. CWC |

| Is it your boss or Pemex that has the deep pockets? You said your boss is a multi-millionaire in one post...I found that a strange comment for the internet at large. I live in Sinaloa and they don't much brag about those things in these parts (do a google!) LOL |

| That is the big difference. Sinaloa is a crime-ridden place, whereas I live in a small town where people dont use weapons. We dont have any kidnappings or murders. If one works around the oil business ones standard of living naturally rises to that level. Would you rather live in a depressed economy or in a boomtown? If you would like to send me a message you are welcome to. If you have a Masters, we would love to talk with you about working with us. We have three Canadians on staff. Of course, you can tell Im a TEXAN. |

HA! A Texan! That 'splains it. BUT I can tell you have never lived in Sinaloa... You perhaps did a Google! LOL ... I love all the media coverage about Culiacan... helps keep the rest of the State to ourselves. I have absolutely no worries about being murdered or "weaponed" to death.
Out of curiousity, why are you searching for fellow teachers on this forum? I was thinking the Big Rich Guy should probably spring for an ad on Dave's Job Board and get thousands of worthy hopefuls for the coveted position of which you speak. |

My father-in-law, chilango to the core, said this the other day of Mexico...
"Todo fuera de DF es Culiacan". He's my father-in-law, so I can't really argue with him. |

| Samantha, I have seen an aggressive note in all your messages, to me and everybody. Please breathe deeply and remember that we are all in the same boat. One day you are going to need someone and it is better to be nice. I refuse to take the bait and fight with you. You catch more flys with sugar than vinegar. |

No not everybody...... Excuse me if I found something rather odd about your initial posts to the forum and I asked a few questions. You sound much more like a school owner or co-ordinator than a teacher. I haven't noticed any other teachers actively recruiting here on behalf of their employers, myself included. You will find upon going back through my posts that I have offered up useful information about living and teaching in Mexico. So have the other regular teachers that frequent this board. That is what the forums are for as far as I know....not for recruiting staff.
Speaking of not being nice, you outright dissed the area in which I live, calling it crime ridden when of course you have never been here to know the difference... and you made a crack about Canadians (well, most of us can laugh at ourselves so whatever! )..... I am not bothered, but normally Texans are a lot more fun than you sound in your posts Further, you came here with an incoherent post, and labelled someone a drunk (which you ought to be careful of under the Napoleonic laws of Mexico) and then began a recruitment campaign. All this in your first or second posts to the forum.
So how about it, join in the regular conversations and let's get to know you! Do you have a name? |

| Samantha, Please go back and read my message. I only said that we have three Canadians on staff. Please try to be more careful when you accuse someone of making a ^crack^ about Canadians. The fact that you mis-read is proof that you are looking for problems. You are the one that keeps making stereotypical statements about Texans. I also defend labeling someone a drunk that shows up to work at 7 AM with liquor on their breath. I am only trying to pass along valuable job information on this job discussion forum. I refuse to be drawn into your game. |

You made this comment, not I! LOL
All this aside, the post you originally were so concerned about of is inacessible as far as I can tell. The Job Information Journal section of this forum does not appear to functioning and that is where it supposedly was posted. It isn't in the archives of this forum so I am not sure how you thought it would work against your recruiting efforts.
Most teachers know that there is always one or two amongst us that don't make the grade, so consequently blame the school or Mexico. I don't think it appropriate for you to resurrect the situation here and call someone a drunk just because. Maybe she ran out of mouthwash Or maybe the teacher had a late night. Yikes..... 7 a.m. start is early if you have a function the night before, something that all of us have probably experienced. Who is responsible for hiring and how do they check references?
Someone with a drinking problem likely can't supply solid references. I heard just the other day of a teacher smelling of alcohol during the day, and using physical force on a student. They say she has good credentials but is not enjoying her job and will be leaving. I wouldn't think it appropriate to post on a forum that she is a drunk. Not coping well, yes, but a drunk?? Living in Mexico is not for everyone so painting a big rosy picture is not necessarily the best way to approach recruiting, in my opinion. |

Samantha, You seem to be dancing around the issue. You have realized that you falsely accused me of making a ^crack^about Canadians. I shall wait for as long as it takes for your apology.
Please try not to be so derisive. I started teaching in Mexico in Feb. `98. If you would give me a chance to communicate without prejudicing my intent, you might learn something. Please try it. |
