สวัสดีครับ !

In case you missed the link on the Index,

here's a webpage dedicated to the upcoming

Loi Krathong Festival, which will be celebrated

in Bangkok on Wednesday evening, 16/11/05.

It's not a holiday in the sense of getting a day off,

but it's one of the more popular events of the year.

Getting into the Loi Krathong spirit ...

Kent with a FANTASTIC group of students at Padaeng Industry Plc

On the table: a beautiful krathong made by Khun Bee

with finishing touches done in class !

When it was finished it looked like a salad.

I told my students I wanted to eat it,

not send it down the river. Laughing

I saw that on CNN today, or at least I think I did.

People were "launching" what looked like a "fabric"? or cloth balloon with candles in the bottom.

It looked very cool, but Im not sure about having one land on the roof of my house. Wink

Isnt there a big Kite festival in Thailand, thats something Id really like to see, or even participate in.

I have a "stunt" kite and its a blast, and a decent workout on the arms if its windy enough.

^ Hi John !

Yes indeed.

There are several Kite Festivals in Thailand;

in Hua Hin, Bangkok and NE Thailand.

The 2006 Hua Hin Kite Festival should be on your calendar!

It's scheduled for March, although the link below

is from the 2004 event:
