Anybody going? (or, for the sake of relevance to this forum) Any teachers going? I am. Saitama Super Arena 12/31. If anybody has been to the arena and has any advice about transportation, food, etc., Id love to hear about it. Thanks.

Just take a train to Saitma-shintoshin station. One stop fron Omiya station. I don't know about food though.

I'm probably going again. Have been to almost every Pride event in the past few years that was held at Saitama Super Arena (Or Tokyo Dome).

Transport is easy. Follow bshabu's advice. Once you get out of the station follow the hordes of people to get to the arena (ie turn left after the ticket gates, go straight over the bridge, turn right and you will see the arena in front of you). Always a good idea to bring your own drinks and snacks, though they do sell stuff there.

It's an AMAZING experience if you are a fight fan. I prefer going to Pride live more than K-1 or K-1 MAX. The crowds are just better. You won't regret it.

It's MMA...mixed martial arts. Like UFC, without the elbows and the cage. Go Saku.

That is too funny how all the gays got PRIDE confussed with gay pride!
Pride is basically anything goes fighting, except for biting! Just imagine the shock you guys would of been in if you actually bought a ticket Exclamation

There are many restaurants near the station.

If you get off at Saitama-Shintoshin station, you're on the third floor. The first floor is parking, and the second floor has numerous restaurants, in addition to many around the station.

You're one stop away from Omiya, and there are plenty of restaurants there too. Check the Metropolis for some ideas.

If you have a lot of time that day, check out the John Lennon museum at Saitama Super Arena. There's a phone inside that Yoko Ono sometimes calls, and vistors are free to answer if it rings. You can ask her what it felt like to break up The Beatles.
