So this year it feels like I've been looking for a place to teach more
often than I have taught and I haven't seen an actual student in months,
and now it's all turned on it's head, again.
I need to be in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. I learned this yesterday. See, I
have a lead on a job there but it's for February, and I have these other
jobs elsewhere lined up but they range from inadequate to insulting and
I want to claim the right to be fed up.
I gave two years good service in a small town then I gave one semester
crap service in a ruthless big city school but I learned how to be a better
teacher. It seems like I'm finding that experience in a foreigner means
he's gone stale as far as the market works things.
Anyway, I suppose it's bad form but I'm asking: any leads not otherwise
being followed on Wenzhou? PM me, or just let me know publicly why I'm
full of shit.
.
This tale of woe brought to you by desperation<tm> and the visa letter Z. |

It's, like, y'know?
About a girl?
(And just so we're clear -- avoiding as we should, unecessary
parenthetical commentary -- ambiguously referential pronouns, such
as that "this," only lead to lengthy diatribes. Plus, Kermit was drunk.) |

Hey, I dont think you'll have any problem getting a job in Wenzhou. They manufacture all kinds of stuff down there
and there is a lot of money floating about...
I've never been, but many of my students came from
Wenzhou and they were RICH kids. However, it's
one of those cities that gets about two uncomplimentary
sentences in Lonely Planet, so there aren't too many foreigners
there...I've never been, but many of my students came from Wenzhou and they were RICH kids. |
