PDA?
In American English that's Public Display of Affection. I can't imagine what a PDA counting machine would be like?
They just had pencils and those computer read standardized test type forms. My husband happened to be home at the time, and as an interesting side note, he gave information that was different from what I would have given had he not been home .
For example, I don't think him coming one weekend a month classifies him as "living" there, I would have said he lives in Morelia. And I wouldn't have counted knowing how to say, "pass me another tortilla" as speaking Mixteco, but he told the guys that he speaks Mixteco. I was a little offended that they didn't care that I speak another language. But he's bilingual because he knows a few words of his grandparent's language. |

Oh, they're very friendly here in Bogota!
PDA in techy terms is Personal Digital Assistant, often known by one of the more common ones available, PalmPilot. |

This ties back to some comments on another thread, I don't know how much we can trust the Mexican census. I'm waiting for a chance to bring it up with my mother-in-law because I'm dying to know if she counted my husband in her house as well!
They seem to be collecting information about birthrates as well, they wanted to know not just how many children I have, but how many pregnancies I've had and how many ended with live births or ended in miscarriage. |

Just filled out the census here in South Korea.. strangely, they had it available in about 15 different languages and asked my nationality as well!
Very nice! |

Isn't that 103,100,000 residents in Mexico? If so, the number of Mexicans has got to be higher... |

Definitely. They also noted that 400,000 a year go to the States, but that must have some overlap with those that go, come back, and go again.
It also counted me. |

Everyone will be happy to know that I was counted. Same questions as noted above. My family was counted as speaking Mayan. My wife and sons are fluent and I am functional. |

I feel soooooo left out!!!!!
No one has counted me yet. Of course if they want to find me at all, they'd better look for me in my office. I live here more than I do at my residence. |

You did good. My contribution to the Census was sending a cold bottle of water out for her to drink while she asked my husband the questions. The Census is supposedly produced every 5 years. Who knows how accurate it can possibly be. I'm leaning toward 'not very'. |

Several of my neighbours refused to participate in the census. If that's repeated elsewhere, then not very accurate at all.
I participated however... |

Got counted here about 3 weeks ago. Apparently you're not allowed to register 'ninguna' in the religion section so he made me choose a religion there and then. I opted for Buddhism for the whole family. |
