| After two years I have learned most of that about Turkish girls, but it is the "family" that bothers me. Still, perhaps in Istanbul things will be a little different compared to Ankara. And I am not going to actively SEEK the "one", but I am just the kind of person that likes to have companionship. I am only 21, so I still have a very long road to travel. And I will be moving to Istanbul where I have no friends or anything, so I do wonder about being lonely there. This is the first time in 3 years that I have not had a girlfriend and it is just hard to deal with, so I am hoping a change in scenery will have a positive effect on my mood. |

Turkishlover 25 - I think I have the answer to your problem - check out the Hannah Beech article in TIME Magazine (TIME.com) "Sex, Please - We're Young and Chinese (Dec. 5, 2005). Head for China not Turkey... |

| Beware of dating your students, though. A friend in Istanbul was recently fired for this -- Some schools are stricter than others, I imagine. I've always steered clear of this, preferring not to mix business with pleasure. Besides, most of my students were too young for my taste (20-year-old men just don't captivate me). However, I did date a friend of a student, so, yes, socializing with adult students can lead to an enjoyable network. |

| I dated a friend of a student too, and he is the one who ended up obsessing for the 6 months after we broke up--- a situation which made my friendship with the student rather awkward. Whoops. |

Well... as wild as my 21 year old body wants to be, I know my tender heart could not keep up with it so I am not looking just for sex. I just like to know that I have dating options and opportunities. I have heard some horror stories, but also some really romantic ones. I'm confident if something is meant to happen, then it will. As for China... I already speak Turkish and I've heard WAY too many horror stories about the Far East. I'll stick with Turkey for now... but who knows what the new flavor of the month will be |
