well, i finally booked my hostel for my first week in Bs.As. i'm staying in Metropolitan Guesthouse (on Av. Rivadavia) which i booked on hostels.com.
so, i was wondering, has anyone stayed in this hostel? if so:
how did you like it?
what were its pros and cons, in your opinion.
i checked out the reviews on hostels.com, but i'm just curious to hear people's first hand experiences of the place, if anyone has even stayed there.
thanks

Hey Emily, I was just wondering why you chose this specific hostel. What were your criteria for choosing it? Price, location? I'm kind of at a loss on the whole hostel issue (there are so many of them to choose from), so any tip would be helpful. Thanks! |

whereabouts on rivadavia is it? Rivadavia goes from 0 to 25,000, allegedly the longest street in the world...
personally i'd choose milhouse hostel if i was looking for 'joda', going out every night and getting pissed or v&s if i was looking for something a bit more chilled. Both very central, around 25 pesos a night in a dorm i think, at the top end of the scale i guess, but they're 2 of the best run hostels in the city by far. |

the reason i chose this hostel is because it's one of the cheapest i could find a single room in. i don't usually stay in single rooms when i travel, but i figured that since i will have more luggage than i usually have (since i'm planning on moving to buenos aires), that it would be a better idea to get a single room. also, it is in the microcentro, which i wanted because it's a central location and i may have to travel around the city to various schools/apartments in my search for a job/place to live. |

The Metropolitan Guesthouse is on Rivadavia 2010... and that's not Microcentro... I wouldn't even call it Macrocentro... |

Rivadavia 2020?- It's 5 blocks from my flat and a couple of blocks from Palacio de Congreso, still pretty close to everything and i'm guessing cheaper as well. 20 minutes walk and you're in the microcentro or 5 minutes walk and 5 minutes subte. Easy to walk to recoleta and very close to buses 12 60 and 37 which all run past recoleta and through to palermo. I like this area. |
