Picking up the thread ... and I understand it's all rather erudite for this stage of the semester ... but ...

In addition to Homer & Ned Flanders, has anyone else noticed the many Simpsons' characters that operate within the Gulf TEFL world ... maybe they're just filling in during those times when they're not needed on set ...

There is of course Crusty, the TEFL clown, ... Lisa Simpson, a manifestation of those mythical students a female poster to this forum once taught ... Barney, a TEFL lifer, ... etc ... (= I'll leave you to do the ruder ones)

Not sure where Ralph ('My head hurts') could fit into it all though ...

Does life imitate the Simpsons, or do the Simpsons imitate life?

Your post would seem to suggest that the Simpsons are not real ... what a suggestion ... I tell you, I've seen them at TESOL Arabia ! You must've been out in the sun too long ...

Other (polite) characters ... Ken Brockman, the TEFL self-publicist ... Willy, a TEFL crackpot ...

Uncover your inner personality, take this test to find out which character is inside you ...

Have you tried comparing your perspective of one of your less motivated male students to that of what you think their own perpective may be ...

I came up with Chief Wiggum v Lisa Simpson
