Hey, I'm sort of new here, but learning...I am going down to Puerto Vallarta December 30th of this year, and am looking for a teaching program that is either in P.V. or I can take online...legitimate program. From what I hear there are some imposters out there. I will need certification but I can't spend a lot on that because I will need any available funds to get started down there. I plan on doing some volunteer work down there, so I will have to work to support myself. 22 and finished high school about 4 years ago. Speak English fluently, I have all my life, except perhaps the first few years when no one understood what I said...I'm sure we all had that experience...lol, corny joke...anyway, any advice appreciated, any contacts welcome, etc, etc, etc
P.S. if you have any friends who have friends who have friends who know of a cheap place to stay in P.V....send me a message. And if it's inappropriate to ask that sort of thing here, please forgive and I won't do it again. Just a little desperate because what I had set up changed and I have a week when I'm down there to find a place to stay...oh well, there's always motels, lol. |

Many tourists are shifting their winter trips to western Mexican resorts, including Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. This makes finding accommodation of any sort really tough this winter (tougher than usual) in these resort areas. Are you set on Puerto Vallarta for some reason, because for sure there are places that are much less expensive to live for the winter. |

Yeah, that makes it hard, it's true. But yeah I'm set on P.V. I have some friends there and that's where they need the help for volunteers. Thanks for the reply. Do you live near there...Pacific Mexico? |

Well, perhaps your friends can point you in the direction of where the locals shop, where to access the cyber cafes out of the tourist zones, etc. They should also know where you can rent a room in someone's house that would be off the beaten track. A friend of mine just visited there and says it is sheer madness with tourists and cruise ship traffic these days. I live up the coast a bit |
