Not an experience, but a thought on ESL in Beijing.
Do you think that right now getting some experience in Beijing could be the big payday if money is a big motivator in your final destination?
Consider this: While teaching English in Beijing now you...
learn the city (the 'how to' of local transportation, where to and where not to go to buy things, knowledge of locations of interest)
gain applicable language skills for interaction,
establish contacts in many areas of living, work, and recreation,
learn how to not wander around like a tourist,
develop your ESL career portfolio,
and then 6-8 months before the Olympics start you...
send your resume to all of the sponsoring companies,
describe all you have learned during your time in Beijing,
give those companies a reason to select you to be a representative while their executives are in town,
bank for a few months,
then choose to stay in Beijing or continue your journey to another location.
I am in HCMC and love it here, so I won't be heading to Beijing any time soon. The above is just a thought for someone that is ready for a change of pace. |
