I wish to make the move to C.R. but can not meet the current requirements of regular income or retirement income or the big cash deposit in C.R. bank.
I am hoping to get a job teaching if possible. I am well read on the country, policies of "taking" natives jobs, cost of living etc. I could live just fine on a fairly low income combined with cash reserves I have.
Question how many people (i.e.) Americans fit this lack of ability to meet C.R. requirement and thus do the 90 days in 72 hours out etc etc.
thanks
Terry From Texas

its a very common practice.
plus, they dont time stamp your passport when you enter and leave the country, so you just have to come back on the third day sometime. the actual hours arent that specific. just make sure you know when the borders are open!
also, if you overstay your visa, they'll just rack you with an extra $20 when you leave the country. depending on how long you're planning on being there, that might be worth it... but going to nicaragua and/or panama are quite doable as well.

Pollitatica: thank you for the information. I have plans to go to C.R. in January. Do you know if I must have a round trip ticked to show proof of leaving the country. I am thinking of taking a bus to C.R. (one way) and then buying a return trip ticket out to the closest out of the country place as that would be cheap and the out bound ticked showing I had paid for the way out is also dateless...open ended. how does this sound to you?
\thanks AGAIN terrycook
