Hi everyone,
My flight will be arriving in Phuket at 12:45 pm. I was wondering if you think I will be able to catch the 2:30 pm ferry to Phi Phi island. If it's not possible, are there any alternative ways of going to Phi Phi?
Thanks.

I was there a couple weeks ago and watched a chopper drop some vips on PhiPhi island!!
Im not sure though, obviously no planes, the 2:30 ferry is the latest as u proabably know but often there are smaller private boats taking out divers or people who have booked into one of the many new resorts that have plagued the island. Ive heard of people paying onto one of these divers boats for a lift accross but its certainly not something u could count on...
I also went from Krabi so couldnt even recommend u somewhere o stay in Phuket, Krabi is about 2hrs from PKt, its a nice place even for a night or 2, i suppose u wouldnt be bothering but if u do i could recommend somewher nice.
By the way, have u booked someone on PhiPhi, its very expensiv now and often heavily booked, I was there about 3 weks ago
Anyway enjoy,its quite a stunning island |

Thanks for the info Masterjazz. Helicopter drop off? Wow that must be very disruptive. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the ferry and not have to rely on private boats.

No problem
It was dropping off on one of the big plots of land that had been wrecked in the tsunami so not too disruptive |

Doable, but it will be a very close connection. Consider that even a very fast taxi is going to take you perhaps 45-50 minutes to get to the Chalong pier. Immigration is often slow - so sit near the front of the plane so you get in line first. Take only carry on luggage - and you should be okay. |
