What are some resonably nice and safe areas of lima that are a bit cheaper than Miraflores? Looking for a three bedroom apartment, what would be areasonable price? Thanks muchly |

I'm not sure, but youll be paying an arm an a leg. I have a two bedroom flat up north and pay 100 usd a month. i've been told the same thing in Lima, but smaller would be 300. |

Well, yeah, but you will get a dump and live in a bad neighborhood. mahajosh, back me up. He lives there.
When I was offered a job there, 300 dollars was a housing allowance, they wouldn't give that much if it weren't so expensive. |

I would be like my 100 dollar a month dump requires a rum budget to operate of 200 dollars a month, then die of alcohol poisoning the next week. |

If youre after a 3 bedroom apartment, id say be prepared to pay $300 at least. Miraflores would be a preferred place, just having a squiz in the paper, most around $450-$550 a month and you could pay a lot more as well. Another couple of good places are San Isidro or La Molina. San Isidro is quite expensive and La Molina is quite far, say...20-30 mins from Miraflores. La Molina prices, $300 or less. Quite a few institutes up La Molina way, as always it depends where you gonna be working and if you wanna pay less and commute a bit or be closer and pay a bit more. Traffic here is a killer though!!! Im currently looking for a place to move so any questions just ask away! |
