In my experience in Saudi salaries are pretty well always what they advertise. With an MA and a few years experience you should go to the top of most salary scales. You get around SR11,000 at KFUPM and SR12,800 at JIC at the top. BAe pays much more (around $7,000 a month depending on the exchange rate and as long as the thousand sterling danger allowance doesn't go away).

The thousand sterling reduces to seven hundred and fifty on 1 Jan and will then be further reduced to nothing. Why do you think they are advertising? And no of course you don' t have to be a Brit.

I see the 750 sterling but I did not know if that was a one time deal or for every month. I am looking at the ad. Well I hope no one applies to their organization so that they have to re-implement the 1000 sterling overseas allowance. If one applied for the position would you have to go to the UK to be interviewed?

Here is the advertisement on TEFL.com

End of Story ? (This "school.")

They offered me a position some time ago and said they would send me the papers needed to get a visa. The papers were never faxed to me. They repeatedly told me that they would send the papers with excuses like "we have been very recently", I just got fed up sending them e-mails and have not heard from them since I sent them the last one.

I have a picture of someone smoking sheesha and "organizing" the whole thing from a cafe. The school - that may never have existed in the first place - seems to have vanished - maybe because not enough teachers took the bait.

The alarm bells rang when I saw the original post. Just another cowboy outfit. Guaranteed to casue grief to anyone who signs on the dotted line and comes to KSA.

If you want to come to KSA there is a limited number of halal employers. My list -

JIC
KFUPM
IPA
SALTS
BAe

Avoid Uncle Abdullah's Language School and all its affiliates.
