I am confused about the certificate of eligiblity, I know the company sponsors your visa, but is the COE something that the company sends me( I gave them my info they needed) and than I take that and other information to the consulate to apply for the work visa right? At least that is the information I got said and I read it like three times, I am just freaking out because I have not gotten anything yet and I know it new years holiday in Japan, so ECC is closed and I can't email anyone. |

That's my understanding. I am also waiting on one, but am not expecting it until after the New Year, as the honchos are on vacation. |

Since the COE is issued by immigration, you will have to be patient and wait for that government office to reopen, perhaps on the 4th. Your employer does not issue the COE.
How long have you been waiting? |

Your not going to be issued the COE until after they have a placement for you. Once a location has been worked out they give all the required papers to immigration, who then issue the COE. Once you have the COE that's when you go to the embasy/consulate.
As far as I know, immigration requires specific job placement details before they do this. So just hold tight for the email from ECC. |

You aren't going anywhere without your visa so quit panicking. You will start work as soon you are ready to get on the plane and not a day before.
Employers work to immigrations schedule, not the other way around. When the COE comes it comes, and there is nothing you, nor your employer can do about it.
Don't Panic. |
