Another 'system ' used by my Arab students is almost subtle.
During multiple guess exams they touch their foreheads for A, their noses for B, their ears for C and their mouths for D.

I teach in an autonomous state university, so enrollment in EFL classes is open to the public. However, the vast majority of our students are from the various colleges of the university. The most notorious for cheating on exams are those from College of Accounting & Business Administration followed closely by those from College of Medicine. Most students from College of Law prefer to gain their required English credits from somewhere other the university's EFL program. The most "honest" seem to be those from College of Engineering and College of Psychology . . . or maybe they're just so good at it that nobody notices. Confused

No wonder we get "Engrish" & "Chinglish" everywhere! We have a zero tolerance of plaigarism in our Foundation Studies programme - 80% Chinese and I'm just marking the first assignment after 6 weeks of the course - many are dreadful, but many have tried really hard to use their own words so I guess we are on the winning side. For exams we only allow a handful of pencils to be taken into the room - all bags are left outside - AND we have several eagle-eyed invigilators.
