Is it allowed to come to HK on a tourist visa (British) and then change to a work visa once in HK? My employer has applied for a work visa for me but it is not ready yet and I don't know whether to postpone my flight from England until I receive my work visa.
Perhaps I could still collect my work visa in HK? Or if this is not allowed, could I go to Macau to collect my work visa? |

Yes, but you won't be allowed to start work until the work visa is issued. It is easy to get the work visa when you are here but you will have to go to Macau and then return before it is operational unless your employer has applied for the visa on your behalf and it has been issued. I didn't get mine before I entered the country but the school had applied and had to give immigration a letter explaining why I had come into the country without it then I just got my visa without having to leave. |
