Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has actually secured a job by posting their resume online? If yes, any sites that are helpful? Is this advisable?
Thanks in advance for any information!

I have tried posting a resume online, asking for work in a specific location (Latin America). I received a flood of responses - but they were all from China. |

I did it once, got bombarded with replies, took a job I found independently, asked the site to take it down, they didn't, replies kept coming.
So yes, it works! |

That has got to be the absolute worstest way to find a job.
I tried it about 5 years back and just got a bunch of Korean Hakwons.
Nowadays I have an online resume, but it's on my own site and password protected. The idea is to slowly surround it with "demos" of my "stuff", so someone impressed by something I'm doing might try to contact me with a job and they'll get a friendly message saying if they want to see my resume contact me with information X,Y, Z and they'll get a password to view my personal details.
The "stuff" never seems to be completed, though But soon ... soon |
