Is there a way to get a little teaching experience for someone who has no training? Can I find schools here in the States that take volunteers? I'm not going to be taking my certification course for a while, but I wanted to see if I can get any experience. Thank you.

Check out the Adult Education centers in your area. You might also talk to the libraries and see if they have a need for a volunteer. Lots of Churches have ESL classes that meet once or twice a week, but I'm not so sure they don't have their own agenda...I'm guessing maybe local businesses would have a need, i.e. Mexican restaurants or Chinese restaurants (not too sure about those, just brainstorming here). If you know of a college/uni with international students, you might try talking to someone in their ESL department, or post flyers around campus or ads in the paper for free English lessons.
