I would like to teach ESL in Thailand and am wondering if it would be better to show up and find a school from within Thailand or set up something ahead of time. If finding a school there is best, when should I fly out to Thailand and start looking? Have any of you heard of or worked for MEDIAKIDS? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I'd be much more inclined to show up and take a good look around if I were you.
You may find the opportunity to suss stuff out face to face that is really quite difficult to do over the internet. I'm sure there are people who have successfully set up remotely but at a guess I reckon they'd be in the minority.
Anyway, if you havent been out this way before then its certainly in your interest to see if you actually would like living in Thailand.
Best of luck.

Thanks. I have spent 5 weeks in Thailand and absolutely loved it. I have been wanting to go back and teach. It does sound like good advice to go there first. I had hoped to save the plane fare by finding a school, but it's not a big deal.
