Hi there, I am going to be starting work in Nagoya next month.

I can't bring my computer, so I wonder if anyone knows any cheap Internet Cafes there?

I am going to be living near Higashi Betsuin and Kanayama stations.

Thanks!

I am in Manboo cafe in Nagoya right now. It is cheep, about 350 per hour, and it is really nice. Free drinks and you get a computer, a tv and a ps2. It is right in Sakae.

Thanks, that sounds good! Is it easy to find by just wandering around the Sakae area?

Just a suggestion but if you have a laptop (or the money to buy one) there are so many hotspots around that you won't even have to pay for internet. A Japanese friend said that Sakae itself has become an entire hotspot. I live in Toyota which is 45 mins out of Nagoya and the guy next door has never paid for internet, just a home made antenna a and a bit of cable and sits at home listening to streaming internet radio.

There's also a Manboo in Kanayama, right by the station (south exit).

But for really cheap, find the YahooBB cafe, right by the TV tower in Sakae. They will try to flog you broadband now and again, but it's worth it for up to 2 hours s day FREE internet! You just need a piece of photo ID to sign up.

Thanks, that gives me a couple of options.

I wasn't planning on buying a laptop before I left, since I spend way too much time on the Internet when I have it at home! I might get a second-hand computer in Japan if I get desperate enough, though.
