I'm a newly qualified primary school teacher from Australia. Im interested in working in Dubai. I have 3 years experience working in hagwons in Seoul. Please tell me everything that might be important when working in UAE, ie the work conditions (do they pay on time generally? Do they honour the contracts?etc.. whats the housing like? Whats the night-life like?).
Any information will be appreciated |

Hello, weathergirl
If you look through the posts in this forum, I think you'll find the answers to most things you need to know.
The best jobs here need an MA, so you won't be getting one of them. As a newly qualified primary school teacher, you might be able to get a position in one of the International Schools, but probably not one of the better ones. You'd do better to get a few more years of experience under your belt - preferably in primary schools since that's what you're qualified for - and then try for something here.
If you've already got a job offer here, PM me with the details and I see what I can find out about your potential employer. |

Hello,
Thanks George for your reply. I do have a masters in Education just no "real" teaching experience. I'll drop you a line if I get a job offer.
Thanks again
ps what are some good recruiting companies? I have already sent my cv to "teachingabroad.com" |

No-one here uses recruiting companies - not to my knowledge, anyway. The most reputable recruiter in the UAE is http://www.clarendonparker.com/ but I don't know if they ever recruit teachers.
I've posted this link to schools before, but it won't hurt to do it again: I suggest you contact them directly if their website looks interesting. GEMS is expanding rapidly and has a pretty good reputation, though not all their schools have the same target population so they probably don't all offer the same conditions to their teachers either.

Good luck - I hope you get something worthwhile. |

If you want a job at an international school, they do most of their hiring at jobfairs. Check out Search Associates, Council of International Schools or ISS. |
