Apologies for the bluntness of the question but after reading some of the threads on the forum I am getting rather curious. Im english and live and work in Bs As and I have no teaching experience. I am married to an argentine girl so have a DNI and all that jazz and am currently working in a call centre. I earn about 1200 on average for a 35 hour week. I never really considered the teaching english option as I thought my stay here would be a short one but now that I think I will be here for the forseeable future I am starting to investigate. Anyone give me any advice before I start phoning institutes etc etc
P.S You do need a DNI to work in a call centre here as far as I am aware but I will ask at work and confirm
Suerte

Working in an institute teaching business English will bring you in around $15 per hour. I doubt you would get anything better especially without a certificate. But I have heard people getting $20 an hour but most of them have some kind of 'teaching' certificate. I think the most hours you are reasonably looking to get would be around 25 hours per week tops. This is mainly because most business people only want classes early mornings, lunchtime or early evening. So if you can combine it with some call centre work then your quids in!!! I'm currently working at a call centre where I don't need a DNI. I make more money per hour than teaching and it is 0 stress 0 preperation and totally 'en negro'. The great thing about it is that I can fit it in between my lunchtime and evening classes and it is all in English. |

If I told you that it would be too easy!!!! Half the fun of moving to a new place is doing the ground work yourself. It's much more satisfying when you get that good job that you know you've put in the leg work to find |
