|
|
I teach at a training center that has mostly adult students. Every western holiday we usually do something to celebrate. We are going to have a Valentine's Day party and I am looking for ideas on what to do. Here's what I have come up with so far...
- Giving out famous couples names to the students. You must walk around trying to find the match for your name (eg. Romeo must find Juliet)
- Doing a version of the dating game
That's all we have come up with. Does anyone have any other ideas? |

strip poker -
no no no! that was out of order - our kids know far too much about cards -don't want to encourage them more in that direction. They need games where physical excercise is of the essence -

The British Embassy in Cairo is said to have organized pen*is measuring contests (in the late 19th and 20th centuries, I think) on festive occasions - though I don't know if this was a special Valentine's Day event. |

While I appreciate everyone's wit (or lack there of ) I am actually looking for HELPFUL suggestions. Is there anyone out there who has any of those
...and before the next comedian suggests it, I don't think seven minutes in heaven would be appropriate |

You could have them write out their description of their "ideal date/boyfriend/girlfriend" etc then have some fun with whose descriptions matched up with one another.... to make it more difficult and interesting, you could make a "taboo" list of words that they couldn't use (kind, pretty, handsome) Can you arrange for a local place to donate a gift certificate for a romantic dinner for two??? Play any game for this prize. I don't know your ratio of male to female students, but it is also fun to have a finish the sentence Love is... Love isn't....by writing then putting into a box, let different people pull them out and read them and guess if it was a male or female who wrote the answer. Hope your party is fun...you may just spark some romances! |

Thanks so much for KL for some useful suggestions
The prizes are all going to be Valentine-related. We'll be giving out dinner for 2 vouchers, bouquets of roses and boxes of chocolates. |
