What's the lowdown on expats looking for Asian cruise ship work?
What are the best countries to look for this type of work?
Which cruiselines hire in Southeast Asia? Malaysia? at which ports?
I'm basically looking for a gig on board a ship which travels to many different places with ample time off to explore those places. Realistic?
On a side note, perhaps working on board a plane is better? Would flight attendents get more time off in between flights or cuise ship workers at port? |

People on cruise ships get longer but less frequent layovers than flight attendants. Flight attendants usually don't get much more than a day or two off in their layovers. Every airline is different however. Good job for awhile when you are single, but tough in the long haul especially when you get kids.
The first few years it is pretty lousy as you have no seniority, hence none of the good flights. Language qualification is a huge plus and is necessary in many cases. |
