The cheapest way would be to hitchhike, and next cheapest would be local buses--switching at the border. If you wanted more comfort and cost take trains. I can't remember which way you go, other than obviously, south but I am sure it wouldn't be hard to figure out if you looked at a map.  |

| Bus from the Thai border to Johor would be most efficient way. The buses here in Malaysia are comfortable, cheap, regular and safe. |

Get to surat thani and get a visa run seat in a minibus to the border and switch there, cheap as chips but takes a little while.
