Greetings General Forum:

Long time no see. Razz Do ya miss me? Laughing Ok, next question.

I have a technical problem today regarding the posting of a .jpeg image within the text of a post. I'd like to 'paste' a cool photo of Moscow-at-night down on the sticky-post on the Russia Forum.

I've already found the 'Img' icon, and I've tried to do this on my own, but alas, I'm not nearly as smart as I thought I was. I'm getting those nasty little red X's instead of the photo.

So, how do I do this? And ... can I post an image that is saved on my hard-drive, or do I need to post an image-link from another website?

A step-by-step explanation in plain English [for idiots] would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your sympathy and help Exclamation

Yours truly,
keNt-WhoHasComeBackFromTheDead

PS: If it helps, here is the website with the photos that I'm interested in: http://www.ivan.ru

Aloha kEnt,

Check out the FAQ here if you haven't already--it's fairly coherent on the subject. And, no, unfortunately you cannot use images from your hard drive.

As for your problem...believe it or not, you're doing the process right but you've got the wrong address. True, if you go to http://www.ivan.ru, you'll see your pretty picture...but that's not really the address you want. You want the exact address where the picture is located.

So, find the site that has your picture. Right click on the picture and pull down to Properties. A box appears. Included in the box is the address where your picture lives. Copy, paste and behold.

And last but not least, good to see you back. Guess we can cancel the candlelight vigil now.

Yes, I keep telling people this but no one listens. When I see my practicum supervisor this Thursday, I'll take a copy of your message to show her in case she thinks my lesson plans are crap (again).

No thanks are necessary--always glad to help. But, if the spirit moves you, feel free to put my address on a bottle of vodka (that's "Irish in Hawaii") and drop it in your nearest mailbox.
