SOme of our most persuasive "experts" are saying you must go for it unless you are dumb and simple-minded in accepting a regular job and delegate some of your responsibility to an employer...

If it was so easy to open a business, especially a training centre, in China then why don't we see more of our peers doing just that?

Just freelancing is not the same as running a training centre.
An operator has to take a more long-term view than a rogue FT cashing in on a faddish English mania.

If it was easy then I would know a lot of Chinese and Foreign operators of TCs, but as a matter of fact, the majority I knew 5, 3 or even 2 years back have - folded!
Only chain schools survive! And those who are a bit flexible - not just singlemindedlyh focusing on silly English.

R - nobody is saying you have to go for it, there isn't any attack on the regular workplace - but some of us do like to stand on our two feet, after all we all see what kind of mess you can get into here after delegating responsiblity to an employer Laughing

you sound a bit jaded and disillusioned ol' son - chin up spring is around the corner Very Happy

I meant you, of course, since your opinion carries the least weight in this debate.

Now what is the name of your own business? Is it registered, capitalised and paying tax? Can you advertise locally? How many FTs are under contract with you? None? A - Chinese teachers are chaper, right?

If you can run your business legally for two consecutive years I will buy you a drink!

If you are serious about starting a business, then do it somewhere else. The sh1t you have to go through here is simply not worth it. No matter what ahole says. Been there, tried that. Why don't you do it in Korea? The same reasons apply here tenfold.
